In light of the recent increase in volatility across the energy markets, EBC will revise the leverage rules for energy symbols effective from 00:00 on 6 August 2026 (MT Server Time, UTC+3).
This adjustment applies to all Live trading accounts and covers the following energy symbols:
- XBRUSD
- XNGUSD
- XTIUSD
Revised Leverage Rules
The maximum leverage for the above energy symbols will vary depending on your account leverage and the applicable trading period, as shown below:

Definitions of Trading Periods
- Normal Trading Hours
All trading hours other than the special periods listed below. - Major Economic Data Release Window
From 30 minutes before until 5 minutes after the release of major U.S. economic data, including:- Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP)
- Consumer Price Index (CPI)
- Federal Reserve interest rate decisions
- Fixed Pre-Close Period
The final 1 hour before market close from Monday to Thursday, and the final 3 hours before market close on Friday. - Public Holiday Early-Close Period
The final 1 hour before an early market close from Monday to Thursday, and the final 3 hours before an early market close on Friday.
Important Information
- The actual leverage applied to energy symbols is determined by both your account leverage and the applicable trading period.
- If your trading account leverage changes, the leverage applied to energy symbols may also change accordingly.
- For trading accounts with leverage of 1:100 or lower, the maximum leverage during all trading periods is limited to 20% of the account leverage.
Risk Reminder
- Following this adjustment, the margin required for both existing positions and newly opened positions in energy symbols may increase.
- Please review your account equity, used margin and free margin in advance, and manage your positions appropriately to reduce the risk of your margin level falling to the stop-out level.
