Step 1: Download and Install MT4
Method One
- Access the EBC website from your desktop. Go to Trading, under Trading Platforms click on MT4
- Click the "Download for MacOS" button to start the download process.
- After downloading the file, navigate to the "Downloads" folder and double-click the MetaTrader4.pkg.zip file.
- After unzipping, you will get the MetaTrader 4.pkg package.
- Double-click it to start the installation. Follow the instructions and accept the terms and conditions to successfully install MT4 on your Mac.
Method Two
- Open the App Store on your device, search for "MetaTrader 4", and download the application. Make sure you download the official MetaTrader 4 application provided by MetaQuotes Software Corp.
Step 2: Log in to Your Trading Account
- Find the MT4 icon in the Applications folder and double-click it to launch the program.
- In the platform, click "File" in the menu bar and select "Log in to Trading Account"
- Enter your EBC trading account number and password.
- Make sure to select the correct server (EBCFinancialGroup KY-Demo or EBCFinancialGroup KY-Live01,EBCFinancialGroup KY-Live02).
- Click OK. You are now logged into your account.
- If you have existing trade account, enter your MT4 account and password.
If not, you may create a new demo/real account. - Click OK. You are now logged into your account.
Step 3: Get to know the MT4 interface
The MT4 interface is divided into several key areas:
- Market Watch: On the left side of the screen, you will find the "Market Watch" window. Here, you can see the real-time prices of different trading instruments.
- Navigator: This section displays your account information and provides access to indicators and scripts.
- Chart Window: Here you can see the real-time price charts of the selected trading instruments.
- Terminal: At the bottom, this section shows your trading history, open positions, and account balance.
Step 4: Execute Trades
- Select Trading Instrument: In the "Market Watch" window, right-click on the forex pair or instrument you want to trade and select "Chart Window."

A new window will open where you can set the trading parameters: lot size, stop loss and take profit, trade type, etc. When you are ready, click "Buy" or "Sell".
Remember that trading carries a high risk and you should only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Step 5: Monitor Your Trades
- Open Positions: In the "Terminal" window at the bottom, click on the "Trade" tab. Here you will see all current open positions, including entry price, trade size, and current profit or loss details.
- Modify or Close Trades: Right-click on an open position and choose "Modify" or "Close Order." In the new window, adjust your stop loss or take profit levels, or close the trade as needed.
Step 6: Use Tools and Indicators
- Add Indicators: To add technical indicators to a chart, click "Insert" in the menu bar, then click "Indicators." Choose the desired indicator and adjust its parameters as needed.
- Drawing Tools: To use drawing tools such as trend lines or Fibonacci retracements, click "Insert," then click "Lines."
